Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know

I want every dog (and their human!) to feel relaxed, comfortable and well looked after. Here are answers to the most common questions I get asked.
Booking an appointment is easy! Simply click any of the WhatsApp buttons on my website, send me a text, drop me a message on Instagram or Facebook or give me a call.
Once I've checked my availability, I'll find a date and time that suits both you and your dog. To secure your appointment, I'll either send you a link to pay the deposit online or if you prefer, you can pay it in person at one of your appointments.
Before your dog's appointment, please take a quick look through their coat for any signs of fleas or ticks.
If you spot fleas or any other parasites, please let me know as soon as possible so we can rearrange your appointment. To help protect all of my furry visitors, I kindly ask that dogs with fleas aren't brought to the salon. Once your dog has been treated and is flea-free, I'll be delighted to welcome them back for their groom.
Before you arrive, I'd also appreciate it if your dog could have a gentle 10–15 minute walk. This gives them a chance to stretch their legs and go to the toilet without becoming too tired—which helps them stay comfortable during their groom, especially if they're a puppy!
Every dog is different, so the length of each grooming appointment can vary depending on the type of groom they're having, their size, coat condition, and how they feel throughout the session.
Most appointments take between 1½ and 3 hours. If your dog's coat is matted, extra time may be needed to carefully and gently remove the matts in the kindest and most comfortable way possible. Some dogs may also benefit from a few extra breaks or a slower pace to help them feel relaxed and confident during their groom.
My priority is always your dog's comfort and wellbeing. I never rush the grooming process, as I want every dog to leave the salon looking their best and, most importantly, having had a calm, positive experience.
If your dog's coat has become matted or heavily knotted, it may be necessary to clip the coat short to remove the matting safely, gently and as comfortably as possible.
I always do my very best to achieve the style you'd like, but your dog's comfort, health and welfare will always come first.
Please bear in mind that:
-
If the matting is severe, a shorter clip may be the kindest and safest option.
-
Extra grooming time may be required, so an additional charge may apply.
-
Tight matting can be very uncomfortable and may cause skin irritation, bruising, sores or restrict movement.
Once the matting has been removed, it isn't uncommon for hidden skin problems to become visible, such as redness, irritation, sores, wounds or parasites that couldn't be seen beneath the coat beforehand. If I notice anything of concern, I'll let you know when you collect your dog.
There is plenty of free on-street parking available close to the salon.
You don't need to stay during your dog's groom. In fact, most dogs settle much more quickly once their owner has left, allowing them to relax and enjoy the grooming experience.
I'll keep you updated throughout the appointment if needed and will let you know if your dog's groom is likely to finish earlier than expected or if it needs a little extra time. As soon as they're ready to go home looking and feeling their best, I'll be in touch!
I completely understand that life doesn't always go to plan and, from time to time, appointments may need to be cancelled or rescheduled. If you can give me at least 48 hours' notice, I'll always do my best to rearrange your appointment for another convenient time.
As a small, one-to-one business, late cancellations can be difficult to fill at short notice and have a significant impact on my diary and income. To help keep my business running smoothly, the following cancellation policy applies:
-
48 hours or more notice: No charge – I'll happily help you rearrange your appointment.
-
Less than 48 hours' notice: A fee of 75% of the full groom price will apply.
-
Failure to attend an appointment without notice (no-show): The full groom price (100%) will be charged.
-
Future bookings: In some circumstances, full payment may be required at the time of booking.
** You’ll find the full Policies & T&Cs in your welcome pack or I’m happy to email them to you.
